Elk City City is a United States city located in the Beckham County, Oklahoma, United States. Elk City City had an official population of 10510 in 2000. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 11311, It is the 36th most populous in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It is spread over 14.9 square miles (38.59 sq km), of which, 14.62 square miles (37.87 sq km ) of it is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 69th largest by total area in Oklahoma.

The median age is 35.8 years, the median age of male residents at 34 and the median age of female residents at 37.2. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 9349 White, 322 Black or African American, 317 American Indian, 57 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, 226 from two or more races and 236 Ohter races.
