Elizabeth City is a one of the Union County, New Jersey, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 120568. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 124755, It is the fourth largest in terms of population. The city extends throughout a territory of 13.66 mi˛ (35.38 sq km ), of which, 12.22 square miles (31.65 sq km) of it is land and 1.43 square miles (3.7 sq km) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 20th largest by total area. It is ranks 20 in the size of its inland waterways in New Jersey.

For every 100 females there were 98 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.1 males. The median age was 32.6 years, The median age of males and females living in Elizabeth City was 31.7 and 33.5 years respectively. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 67250 White, 24090 Black or African American, 580 American Indian, 2830 Asian, 55 Native Hawaiian, 7061 from two or more races and 18702 Ohter races.
