Elgin City is a one of the Kane County, Illinois, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 94487. Its population was estimated at 106330 in July 2008, It is the eighth largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 25.39 sq mi (65.76 square kilometre), of which, 25 square miles (64.75 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.39 square miles (1.01 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 11th largest in terms of geographical size.
