El Dorado City, Kansas is a city of the Butler County, Kansas, United States. It is home to over 12057 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 12591, giving it the 27th largest population among Kansas. It has total area of 6.42 sq mi (16.63 kmē), of which, 6.37 square miles (16.5 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, it is the 36th largest in terms of geographical size.
