Edwards County is a county located in the United States of Texas. It is home to over 2162 people (2000 census). Its population was estimated at 1952 in July 2008, It is the 18th smallest in terms of population. The county encompasses an area of 2119.95 mi˛ (5490.65 sq km ), of which, 2119.75 square miles (5490.13 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 12th largest by total area among Texas's county.

The population density was 1 people per square mile (0.39/km˛), it is Texas's ninth least densely populated county. In the county the population was spread out, with 28.5% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 97.4 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 101.8 females.
