The population of the census designated place was 5992 as per the 2000 census data. making it the 16th most populous in Delaware. The census designated place encompasses an area of 1.83 mi˛ (4.74 sq km ), of which, 1.82 square miles (4.71 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 27th largest by total area among Delaware.
