Edgefield County is a county located in the United States of South Carolina. In 2000, the population was 24595. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 25546, It is the 12th smallest in terms of population. The county encompasses an area of 506.54 miē (1311.93 kmē ), of which, 501.89 square miles (1299.89 kmē) of it is land and 4.64 square miles (12.02 kmē) of it is water, it is the 12th smallest by area in the U.S. state of South Carolina.
