Eddy County is a county located in North Dakota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of the county was 2757 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2388, making it the 16th least populous county in North Dakota. It covers total area of 644.23 sq mi (1668.55 kmē), of which, 630.12 square miles (1632 kmē) of it is land and 14.11 square miles (36.54 kmē) of it is water, making it the smallest by size in North Dakota.

The population density was 4.4 people per square mile (1.7/kmē), making it the 23rd most densely populated county in North Dakota. There were 1418 housing units at an average density of 2.3 per square mile (0.89/kmē). The average household size was 2.3 people, and the average family size was 2.96 people. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 23.6% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 22.5% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 24.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 2388, The racial makeup of the county was 95.48% White, 0.13% Black or African American, 3.22% American Indian, 0.13% Asian, 0.08% Native Hawaiian, and 0.96% from two or more races.
