The town comprises an area of 4.28 sq mi (11.09 sq km), of which, 4.24 square miles (10.98 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, it is the 265th largest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1037 residents, 409 households, and 281 families in the town.
