Eau Claire County, Wisconsin is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 93142 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 98286, making it Wisconsin's 16th largest county. The county encompasses an area of 645.28 mi˛ (1671.27 sq km ), of which, 637.64 square miles (1651.48 sq km) of it is land and 7.64 square miles (19.79 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 21st smallest by total area in Wisconsin.

The population density was 146.1 people per square mile (56.41/km˛), it is Wisconsin's 15th most densely populated county. There were 37474 housing units at an average density of 58.8 per square mile (22.7/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.46 persons, and the average family size was 3.02 persons. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 23.4% under the age of 18, 17.1% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 20.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.6 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 98286, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 93147 White, 733 Black or African American, 584 American Indian, 2609 Asian, 37 Native Hawaiian, and 1176 from two or more races.
