Eau Claire City is a one of the Eau Claire and Chippewa counties, Wisconsin, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 61704 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 65426 in July 2008, It is ninth most populous in Wisconsin. The city has a total area of 32.37 sq mi (83.84 sq km), of which, 30.28 square miles (78.42 sq km) of it is land and 2.09 square miles (5.41 sq km) of it is water, making it Wisconsin's 14th largest by total area. It is ranks 18 in the size of its inland waterways in Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 61704 people in the city, organized into 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 2037.8 people per square mile (786.8/kmē), giving it the 66th most densely populated city among the Wisconsin.
