Eaton County, Michigan is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 103655 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 106781, making it the 20th most populous county in Michigan. The county extends throughout a territory of 579.02 sq mi (1499.65 square kilometre ), of which, 576.41 square miles (1492.9 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.61 square miles (6.76 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Michigan's 25th smallest county by total area.

The population density was 179.8 people per square mile (69.42/kmē), it is the 19th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Michigan. There were 42118 housing units at an average density of 73.1 per square mile (28.22/kmē). The average household size was 2.54 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 26.1% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.5 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 106781, The racial makeup of the county was 89.95% White, 6.38% Black or African American, 0.48% American Indian, 1.67% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.48% from two or more races.
