East Washington Borough, Pennsylvania


East Washington Borough is a borough in the Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1930 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 1861, making it the 637th most populous in Pennsylvania. The borough encompasses an area of 0.46 sq mi (1.19 kmē), it is the 282nd smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1930 people, 903 households, and 492 families residing in the borough. The population density was 4225.3 people per square mile (1631.4/kmē), it is the 215th most populated borough in terms of population density. There were 983 housing units at an average density of 2137 per square mile (825.1/kmē). The average household size was 2.14 people, and the average family size was 2.82 people. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 20.3% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 15% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.4 males. The median age is 39.7 years, the median age of male residents at 38.5 and the median age of female residents at 41. The racial makeup of the borough was 1815 White, 82 Black or African American, 4 American Indian, 7 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 19 from two or more races and 1 Ohter races.
