East Moline City is a one of the Rock Island County, Illinois, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 20333. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 20892, making it Illinois's 111th largest. The city encompasses an area of 9.02 sq mi (23.36 square kilometre), giving it the 95th largest by total area among Illinois.

As of the census of 2000, there were 20333 residents, 8510 households, and 5368 families in the city. The population density was 2254.9 people per square mile (870.62/kmē), it is 238th most densely populated city in Illinois. There were 8988 housing units at an average density of 996.5 per square mile (384.75/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.35 persons, and the average family size was 2.97 persons. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.7% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 17% who were 65 or older.
