The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 20.34 square miles (52.68 kmē ), of which, 20.11 square miles (52.08 kmē) of it is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 kmē) of it is water, it is the 22nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5623 people, 2049 households, and 1644 families residing in the census designated place. The population density was 279.6 people per square mile (107.95/kmē), it is the 159th least densely populated census designated place in the U.S. state of Arkansas.
