East Dubuque City, Illinois


East Dubuque City is a city located in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. It is home to over 1995 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 1921, It is the 502nd largest by population in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is spread over 2.14 square miles (5.54 square kilometre), of which, 2.06 square miles (5.34 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 426th largest by total area in Illinois.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1995 residents, 864 households, and 528 families in the city. The population density was 967.4 people per square mile (373.52/kmē), giving it the 810th most densely populated city among the Illinois. There were 932 housing units at an average density of 452.4 per square mile (174.67/kmē). The average household size was 2.31 people, and the average family size was 2.97 people. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 23.3% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 16% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 105.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.2 males. The median age of the city's population was 38.3 years, the median age of male residents at 36.4 and the median age of female residents at 40.1. The racial makeup of the city was 99.1% White, 0.15% Black or African American, 0.05% American Indian, 0.2% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.3% from two or more races and 0.2% Other races.
