East Chicago City is a one of the Lake County, Indiana, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 32414. Its population was estimated at 29978 in July 2008, It is Indiana's 24th largest by population . It is spread over 15.63 sq mi (40.48 sq km), of which, 11.98 square miles (31.03 sq km ) of it is land and 3.65 square miles (9.45 sq km) of it is water, it is the 30th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Indiana.
