East Carbon City, Utah


East Carbon City is one of the city of Carbon County, Utah, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 1393 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 1258, giving it the 141st largest population among Utah. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.94 sq mi (23.15 square kilometre), of which, 8.93 square miles (23.13 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Utah's 77th largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1393 residents, 562 households, and 385 families in the city. The population density was 156 people per square mile (60.23/kmē), it is 80th least densely populated city in Utah. There were 734 housing units at an average density of 82.2 per square mile (31.74/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 3.01 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 26.2% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 23% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 19.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.3 males. The median age of the city's population was 40.9 years, The median age of males was 39.5 years, for females the median age was 41.7 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 1130 White, 2 Black or African American, 9 American Indian, 2 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 32 from two or more races and 218 Ohter races.
