East Berlin Borough, Pennsylvania


East Berlin Borough is one of the borough of Adams County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 1365. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the borough is 1425, It is the 765th most populous in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The borough comprises an area of 0.7 square miles (1.81 kmē), it is the 933rd largest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1365 residents, 557 households, and 387 families in the borough. The population density was 1962.1 people per square mile (757.57/kmē), giving it the 648th most densely populated borough among the Pennsylvania. There were 588 housing units at an average density of 840 per square mile (324.33/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. In the borough the population was distributed as follows: 26.4% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 32% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 86.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88 males. The median age was 34.6 years, the median age of male residents at 34.4 and the median age of female residents at 35. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 1330 White, 7 Black or African American, 2 American Indian, 4 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 10 from two or more races and 12 Ohter races.
