East Alton Village is a one of the Madison County, Illinois, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 6830 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 6563, It is the 258th largest in terms of population. The city encompasses an area of 5.63 mi˛ (14.58 sq km ), of which, 5.5 square miles (14.24 sq km) of it is land and 0.13 square miles (0.34 sq km) of it is water, making it Illinois's 188th largest by total area.

The median age is 36.3 years, the median age of male residents at 34.4 and the median age of female residents at 38. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 6606 White, 64 Black or African American, 17 American Indian, 26 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 104 from two or more races and 12 Ohter races.
