Eagle County is a county in the United States of Colorado. The population of county in 2000 stood at 41659 as per the Census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 52331, It is 14th most populous county in Colorado. It is spread over 1691.8 square miles (4381.74 square kilometre), of which, 1687.88 square miles (4371.59 square kilometre ) of it is land and 3.93 square miles (10.18 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 27th largest by area in the U.S. state of Colorado.

The population density was 24.7 people per square mile (9.54/kmē), making its Colorado's 17th most densely populated county. There were 22111 housing units at an average density of 13.1 per square mile (5.06/kmē). The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.17. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.5% under the age of 18, 11.4% from 18 to 24, 42.1% from 25 to 44, 20% from 45 to 64, and 3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 121 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 125.8 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 52331, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 50633 White, 304 Black or African American, 386 American Indian, 567 Asian, 39 Native Hawaiian, and 402 from two or more races.
