Durand City, Wisconsin


Durand City is a United States city located in the Pepin County, Wisconsin, United States. It is home to over 1968 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 1859, giving it the 234th largest population among Wisconsin. The city has a total area of 1.71 square miles (4.43 sq km), of which, 1.6 square miles (4.14 sq km) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 sq km) of it is water, making it Wisconsin's 346th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1968 people in the city, organized into 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 1229.4 people per square mile (474.67/kmē), it is Wisconsin's 182nd most densely populated city. There were 876 housing units at an average density of 547.5 per square mile (211.39/kmē). The average household size was 2.29 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 24.8% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 23.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 110.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 114.3 females. The median age was 41.1 years, the median age of male residents at 38.1 and the median age of female residents at 42.8. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 1947 White, 3 Black or African American, 4 American Indian, 3 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 10 from two or more races and Ohter races.
