Dundy County, Nebraska is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 2292 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 2002, making it the 19th least populous county in Nebraska. The county comprises an area of 920.79 square miles (2384.84 kmē), of which, 919.86 square miles (2382.43 kmē) of it is land and 0.93 square miles (2.41 kmē) of it is water, it is the 20th largest in terms of geographical size.


As of the census of 2000, there were 2292 residents, 961 households, and 637 families in the county. The population density was 2.5 people per square mile (0.97/kmē), making it the 17th least densely populated county in Nebraska. There were 1196 housing units at an average density of 1.3 per square mile (0.5/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.29 persons, and the average family size was 2.87 persons. In the county Age distribution was 23.3% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 23.5% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 22.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 2002, The racial makeup of the county was 1953 White, 1 Black or African American, 18 American Indian, 11 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 18 from two or more races.
