Dumas City is one of the city of Desha County, Arkansas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 5238 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 4622, It is the 57th largest by population in the U.S. state of Arkansas. Its area is just over 2.96 square miles (7.67 sq km), it is the 180th largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

The population density was 1768 people per square mile (682.63/kmē), it is the tenth most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Arkansas.
