Dubuque City is a one of the Dubuque County, Iowa, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 57686 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 57250, It is the eighth most populous in the U.S. state of Iowa. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 27.72 square miles (71.79 kmē), of which, 26.48 square miles (68.58 kmē) of it is land and 1.23 square miles (3.19 kmē) of it is water, it is the ninth largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is ranks tenth in the size of its inland waterways in Iowa.
