The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 44297, It is California's 235th largest by population . The city extends throughout a territory of 12.59 sq mi (32.61 sq km ), of which, 12.59 square miles (32.61 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 267th largest by area in the U.S. state of California.
