Dowagiac City is a one of the Cass County, Michigan, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. Dowagiac City had an official population of 6147 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 5703, giving it the 166th largest population among Michigan. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.04 sq mi (10.46 sq km), of which, 4.02 square miles (10.41 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 186th largest by total area in Michigan.
