Dover City, New Hampshire is a city of the Strafford County, New Hampshire, United States. The population of the city was 26884 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 28609, making it the fifth most populous in New Hampshire. It covers total area of 29.05 sq mi (75.24 kmē), of which, 26.72 square miles (69.2 kmē) of it is land and 2.34 square miles (6.06 kmē) of it is water, makes it the tenth largest by total area in New Hampshire. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

As of the census of 2000, there were 26884 people in the city, organized into 11573 households, and 6496 families residing in the city. The population density was 1006.2 people per square mile (388.5/kmē), it is New Hampshire's 25th most densely populated city.
