Dover City, Delaware is a city of the Kent County, Delaware, United States. In 2000, the population was 32135. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 36107, It is Delaware's third largest by population . According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.69 square miles (58.77 kmē), of which, 22.39 square miles (57.99 kmē) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78 kmē) of it is water, making it Delaware's second largest by total area. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in Delaware.

As of the census of 2000, there were 32135 residents, 12340 households, and 7500 families in the city.
