Douglas County, Minnesota is a county of the United States of Minnesota. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 32821 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 36258, It is the 29th most populous county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county extends throughout a territory of 719.94 sq mi (1864.64 sq km ), of which, 634.32 square miles (1642.88 sq km) of it is land and 85.62 square miles (221.75 sq km) of it is water, it is the 41st largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 32821 people in the county, organized into 13276 households, and 9030 families residing in the county. The population density was 51.7 people per square mile (19.96/kmē), giving it the 26th most densely populated county among the Minnesota. There were 16694 housing units at an average density of 26.3 per square mile (10.15/kmē). The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.93. In the county Age distribution was 24% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 25% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 101 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 103.2 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 36258, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 35638 White, 112 Black or African American, 120 American Indian, 167 Asian, 9 Native Hawaiian, and 212 from two or more races.
