Douglas City is one of the city of Coffee County, Georgia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 10639 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 11413, It is the 77th most populous in the U.S. state of Georgia. It has total area of 12.94 sq mi (33.51 square kilometre), of which, 12.88 square miles (33.36 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 57th largest by size in Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10639 people, 3977 households, and 2655 families living in the city. The population density was 825.7 people per square mile (318.8/kmē), making its Georgia's 185th most densely populated city. There were 4692 housing units at an average density of 364.3 per square mile (140.66/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.57 persons, and the average family size was 3.14 persons. The population's age distribution was 27.8% under the age of 18, 11.6% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 83.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77 males. The median age of the city's population was 33 years, the median age of male residents at 29.6 and the median age of female residents at 36.3. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 5150 White, 4823 Black or African American, 29 American Indian, 116 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, 112 from two or more races and 404 Ohter races.
