Dougherty County is a one of the county from Georgia's 159 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 96065. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 95754, It is the 25th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Georgia. It covers total area of 334.64 sq mi (866.71 sq km), of which, 329.6 square miles (853.66 sq km) of it is land and 5.04 square miles (13.05 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 87th largest by total area in Georgia.

In the county the population was spread out, with 27.7% under the age of 18, 12.2% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 87.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.3 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 95754, The racial makeup of the county was 33.34% White, 64.52% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 1.03% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 0.78% from two or more races.
