Dothan City is a one of the Houston, Dale and Henry counties, Alabama, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 57737 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 66505, making it the seventh most populous in Alabama. The city comprises an area of 86.82 sq mi (224.86 kmē), of which, 86.62 square miles (224.34 kmē) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 kmē) of it is water, making it the sixth largest by size in Alabama.

As of the census of 2000, there were 57737 people in the city, organized into 23685 households, and 16028 families residing in the city. The population density was 666.6 people per square mile (257.38/kmē), it is Alabama's 90th most densely populated city.
