Dona Ana County, New Mexico is a county of the United States of New Mexico. Dona Ana County had an official population of 174682 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 201603, It is second most populous county in New Mexico. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3814.62 sq mi (9879.82 square kilometre), of which, 3807.18 square miles (9860.55 square kilometre) of it is land and 7.44 square miles (19.27 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 16th largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in New Mexico.

As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 201603, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 92.65% White, 3.17% Black or African American, 1.6% American Indian, 1.01% Asian, 0.12% Native Hawaiian, and 1.44% from two or more races.
