Dodge County is one of the 159 county of Georgia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 19171 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 20116 in July 2008, It is Georgia's 90th most populous county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 503.17 mi˛ (1303.2 sq km), of which, 500.29 square miles (1295.75 sq km) of it is land and 2.88 square miles (7.46 sq km) of it is water, making it the 30th largest by size in Georgia.

There were 8186 housing units at an average density of 16.4 per square mile (6.33/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 3.02 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 26% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 105.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.8 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 20116, The racial makeup of the county was 13866 White, 6045 Black or African American, 48 American Indian, 58 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, and 95 from two or more races.
