Dixon County is one of the 93 county of Nebraska, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 6339 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6293, making it Nebraska's 48th largest county. It covers total area of 482.72 square miles (1250.24 sq km), of which, 476.39 square miles (1233.84 sq km) of it is land and 6.33 square miles (16.39 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 16th smallest by total area in Nebraska.

For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.5 males.
