Divide County, North Dakota is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 2283 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1986, It is North Dakota's ninth least populous county. The county has a total area of 1294.18 sq mi (3351.91 kmē), of which, 1259.53 square miles (3262.17 kmē) of it is land and 34.65 square miles (89.74 kmē) of it is water, it is the 23rd largest by area in the U.S. state of North Dakota.

The population density was 1.8 people per square mile (0.69/kmē), it is the sixth least densely populated county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. In the Divide County, 20.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 3.6% were 18 to 24, 20.1% were 25 to 44, 26.6% were 45 to 64, and 29.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.5 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1986, The racial makeup of the county was 98.64% White, 0% Black or African American, 0.3% American Indian, 0.76% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.3% from two or more races.
