Dillingham Census Area is a one of the census area from Alaska's 27 counties, located in Western Region (Pacific) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 4922 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the census area is 4933, It is the 19th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 20928.41 mi˛ (54204.33 square kilometre), of which, 18674.78 square miles (48367.46 square kilometre ) of it is land and 2253.63 square miles (5836.87 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 11th largest by size in Alaska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4922 people, 1529 households, and 1106 families living in the census area. The population density was 0.3 people per square mile (0.12/km˛), making it the 19th most densely populated census area in Alaska. In the census area Age distribution was 38.1% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 5.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 91.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 91.9 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4933, The racial or ethnic makeup of the census area was 1106 White, 20 Black or African American, 3462 American Indian, 30 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, and 311 from two or more races.
