Dickson City is one of the city of Dickson County, Tennessee, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of the city was 12244 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 13972, giving it the 41st largest population among Tennessee. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.53 sq mi (42.81 square kilometre), of which, 16.47 square miles (42.66 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Tennessee's 39th largest by total area.
