The county extends throughout a territory of 852.12 square miles (2206.98 square kilometre ), of which, 847.92 square miles (2196.1 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.2 square miles (10.88 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 44th largest by total area among Kansas's county.
