Dickinson City is a city located in Stark County, North Dakota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 16010 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 16035, It is sixth most populous in North Dakota. Its area is just over 9.49 sq mi (24.58 sq km), of which, 9.47 square miles (24.53 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 11th largest by area in the U.S. state of North Dakota.

The population density was 1690.7 people per square mile (652.78/kmē), it is the 26th most populated city in terms of population density. In the city the population was spread out, with 24.5% under the age of 18, 13.8% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 106.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 112.8 females. The median age of the city's population was 35.6 years, the median age of male residents at 32.8 and the median age of female residents at 37.8. The racial makeup of the city was 97.16% White, 0.27% Black or African American, 1.2% American Indian, 0.24% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, 0.77% from two or more races and 0.32% Other races.
