Dickens County is a county located in the United States of Texas. The population of county in 2000 stood at 2762 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2450, making it the 24th least populous county in Texas. Its area is just over 905.21 square miles (2344.48 square kilometre), of which, 904.21 square miles (2341.89 square kilometre) of it is land and 1 square miles (2.59 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 151st largest by size in Texas.

The population density was 3.1 people per square mile (1.2/kmē), it is the 33rd least populated county in terms of population density. There were 1368 housing units at an average density of 1.5 per square mile (0.58/kmē). The average household size was 2.29 persons, and the average family size was 2.89 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 18.5% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 19% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 130.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 141.9 males.
