Dexter Town is a United States town located in the Chaves County, New Mexico, United States. Dexter Town had an official population of 1235 in 2000. The town's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1231, It is the 107th most populous in the U.S. state of New Mexico. Its area is just over 0.79 square miles (2.05 square kilometre), of which, 0.73 square miles (1.89 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 21st smallest by area in the U.S. state of New Mexico.
