Dewitt County is one of the 254 county of Texas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 20013. In July 2008, its estimated population was 19596, It is the 119th largest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 910.47 sq mi (2358.11 kmē), of which, 909.18 square miles (2354.77 kmē) of it is land and 1.29 square miles (3.34 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 143rd largest by total area in Texas.
