In July 2008, its estimated population was 22517, giving it the 22nd largest population among Kansas. The city encompasses an area of 7.46 square miles (19.32 sq km ), of which, 7.45 square miles (19.3 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 31st largest by total area among Kansas.
