Denton City is a city located in the Denton County, Texas, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Denton City is home to 80537 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 119454, giving it the 31st largest population among Texas. It has total area of 62.33 sq mi (161.43 kmē), of which, 61.49 square miles (159.26 kmē) of it is land and 0.83 square miles (2.15 kmē) of it is water, making it Texas's 29th largest by total area.
