Dent County, Missouri is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 14927 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population was 15199, making it the 69th most populous county in Missouri. It has total area of 754.51 sq mi (1954.17 kmē), of which, 753.54 square miles (1951.66 kmē) of it is land and 0.97 square miles (2.51 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 22nd largest by total area among Missouri's county.

In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.9% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.7 males.
