Demopolis City is a city in the Marengo County, Alabama, United States. Demopolis City had an official population of 7540 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 7350, making it Alabama's 74th largest. It has total area of 12.48 sq mi (32.32 sq km), of which, 12.23 square miles (31.68 sq km) of it is land and 0.25 square miles (0.65 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 97th largest by total area in Alabama.
