Delta City is a one of the Delta County, Colorado, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 6400 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 9020, It is the 76th largest by population in the U.S. state of Colorado. The city comprises an area of 5.52 mi˛ (14.3 sq km), of which, 5.32 square miles (13.78 sq km) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 sq km) of it is water, making it the 87th largest by size in Colorado. It is ranks 20 in the size of its inland waterways in Colorado.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6400 people, 2569 households, and 1741 families residing in the city. The population density was 1203.3 people per square mile (464.6/km˛), it would be the 155th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Colorado. There were 2749 housing units at an average density of 516.7 per square mile (199.5/km˛). The average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 3.02 persons. Age range in the city was well distributed with 27.2% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 24.1% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.5 males. The median age was 38.1 years, The median age of males and females living in Delta City was 35.9 and 40.2 years respectively. The racial makeup of the city was 86.25% White, 0.2% Black or African American, 0.89% American Indian, 0.39% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 2.33% from two or more races and 9.94% Other races.
