Delmar Town is a town located in Sussex County, Delaware, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1407 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 1516, It is the 40th most populous in the U.S. state of Delaware. The town has a total area of 0.94 sq mi (2.43 square kilometre), it is the 41st largest by area in the U.S. state of Delaware.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1407 people, 542 households, and 344 families residing in the town. The population density was 1498.9 people per square mile (578.73/kmē), it is Delaware's 29th most densely populated town. There were 595 housing units at an average density of 633 per square mile (244.4/kmē). The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 3.04. Age range in the town was well distributed with 26.6% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 26% from 25 to 44, 19% from 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65 or older.
